Easy Stir Fry Steak a 15 Minute Meal

A fun afternoon full of flavour easily. I am no great fancy chef. Larry and I are down to earth people who love food that warms the soul and warms our hearts. Sometimes with spice! The keywords here are: easy and delicious.

What is in IT!?

In this easy to do stir fry, I used a thin beef slice, lightly grilled and A-Sha noodles. We did cheat with frozen veggies and basic spicing. The flavour was still delightful. The A-Sha noodles do come with a sauce to use. We purchased this at the local Costco. Honestly though using any type of noodle with a sauce packet you like is a good way to go.

Budget? No Problem!

What really matters is your extras to liven up the basic noodles! Using the beef steak with stir fry vegetable blend is easy peasy and easy on your bank book. Larry and I wait for the meats to go on sale. When the meats are in a price range we can make happen with ease we pick up several packs. I don’t know who can afford the rising prices in groceries! We keep on top by looking for the good deals!

The vegetables are fun because yes in this particular case we purchased a bag of frozen veggies. The bag weighs about 1.25Kg and is around 12$. A lot of variety in the bag and the concern of them going bad and feeding the garbage instead of you is out of one’s worry.

It so happens there is a but though. Here is the thing. Wanting fresh veggies into your stir fry adventures or soups on a budget try looking for these vegetables:

-Extra Large Carrots, Daikon Radishes, Bok Choy or Suey Choy, Canned Water Chestnuts, Canned Baby Corn, Soft Boiled Eggs (obviously not a vegetable)

Using these simple ingredients get you away from frozen and into more fresh pastures. The large carrots and large radish also have a long shelf life. More days for more soups and stir fries.

One thing I also buy frozen though for cooking specifically is spinach. Spinach I do not buy fresh to cook with because I am able to buy frozen for 2$ and it ends up having as much to use as a fresh bag for 6$.

Flavour

Earlier I spoke of spices! This recipe I went very basic. Salt, pepper, a bit of Hoison Sauce, Soy Sauce, a teensy bit of Sesame Oil and the A-Sha Packet. The beef I lightly salted and peppered and sizzled slightly. No one enjoys rock hard, chewy beef! It is crazy how using simple short cuts can cut on budget in a beautiful way and still give you the desired effect, in this case a tasty stir fry in 15 to 30 minutes.

Final Recipe:

This recipe is so basic I do not even think we need tons of instruction.

Boil water- cook veggies as many as you would like

Boil water- cook noodles a packet per person

Sauces- mix Hoison Sauce, Sesame Oil, Soy Sauce, Spice Packet to your own taste

Fry beef lightly salt and peppered, add veggies, add noodles. Sauces to taste, fry slightly to meld flavours and within 15 minutes start to finish you have a delightful stir fry steak.

Enjoy

Much Love
