Are you into food? 

Aren’t we all? If not you should be. Food should bring happiness to your toes on a cold day, happiness at a graduation and comfort on a sad day. Being a foodie can be created in your house. It shouldn’t all be fast food and no it does not have to all be gourmet and take endless hours. Being a foodie in your home should match what you love to eat. As well as not breaking the bank!

Budget Cooking, you say?

Yes, cooking on a budget can be scrumptious and you don’t have to be a “foodie” to do it. I know cooking for three can be expensive. Having a picky pre-teen in the house, me having IBS. It is easy to say I have a tall order in my house to supplement everyone’s needs. I love that Larry and I both pitch in for cooking meals which really helps, but that is not always the case. Now before I get away with myself, I was discussing budgets!

Some of my recipes seem fancy, but most meat I buy is 50% off. Depending on where you shop, learn the stores patterns. Yes, grocery stores have basic patterns for when they will discount certain things. Some things will be random, but meat and dairy stereotypically go on sale on certain days. Certain stores also have higher discount prices.

What other things to do besides sale items 

I want to help guide people in other ways to grocery shop besides just sale items, so you are able to easily learn how to be a confident “foodie” in your home for your taste. Let’s face it, sometimes you are faced with the need for regular priced items, but there is always a BUT. Throughout my page I want to give tips on other ways to buy food for the most economically friendly.

How to Stretch Those Groceries

Stretch? Groceries? What? How so? Come again? Are you asking yourself these questions?

Here is the thing that people may not think of because they have not been shown or taught. How to make your groceries stretch. There are some simple tools anyone can learn and utilize. Making your groceries go the extra mile, whether you are a single person or have kids being able to increase the length your groceries can run anyone in their right mind should be on top of that. This is a foodie practice item. You will learn tricks for the common groceries you buy and love to create foodie items with ease!

The Bottom Line

Budgetary, delicious, and making groceries last are my top three goals when I purchase, cook and use my groceries for our family. I do have specific dietary needs that cause issues. Believe me I get it, groceries are difficult, but follow along with me on my food journey. There are fun things I hope to share, try and communicate to give a family the most out of their grocery bill every month.
